Lustyik Ákos Gergő

Ákos Lustyik is a classically trained composer from Budapest, currently residing and working in the United Kingdom in London. After completing his studies at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, he graduated with distinction from the Royal College of Music in London. He is an active film music composer and has scored numerous contemporary films, as well as working as a conductor, orchestrator, music editor, and music supervisor. His involvement as music editor and supervisor on Mindenki/Sing (Kristof Deák, dir.) earned him an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. In 2018, he was one of the participants of Richard Bellis’ prestigious ASCAP film scoring workshop in Hollywood. He has collaborated with JaguarLand Rover in their Fleet & Business campaign, providing music for their promotional films. He was selected to be on the BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television) Arts Crew for its 2021 program. He has been a finalist and award-winner in numerous film music competitions, including being a fivetime winner at the FMF in Krakow, a 2nd Prize-winner at the Transatlantyk Film Festival, and most recently a Prize-winner at the Jubilee Competition at the Hungarian Palace of the Arts (MÜPA). Apart from working in film music, he is also an active composer and arranger for both theater and concert programs. He is a repeat recipient of the Zoltán Kodály Scholarship for young composers.
